    Robert “Bobby” J. Peryea, 69, of Melody Lane, Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Saturday July 9, 2022 with his loving family by his side at UVHN:CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Malone, NY on September 24, 1952 the son of Ernest and Grace (Franklin) Peryea.

    Bobby graduated from St. John’s Academy in 1970. Soon after he went to Hudson Valley Community College, graduating in 1973. Bobby was a mechanic at several car dealerships before going to work as a mechanic for the New York State Department of Corrections, retiring in 2015 from Altona Correctional. He was a member of St. John’s Church, Past Chief of the District 3 Fire Department with nearly 50 years of service and Clinton County Fair Board for nearly 30 years. Bobby enjoyed NASCAR, local racing, snowmobiling and four wheeling and was a member of the Adirondack Four Wheelers Club.

    He was predeceased by his parents and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

    Bobby is survived by his wife of 47 years Audrey (Curtis) Peryea, they were married on August 17, 1974 at St. Augustine’s Church in Peru. Their children, Jason Peryea of Plattsburgh, Tricia Bruce of Plattsburgh and five grandchildren; Caden, Hunter and Mason Bruce, Alyssa and Elliot Peryea, his brothers/sisters-in-law; Jerry Curtis, Alma Stipanovich, Joanne and Rod Baker, Marty and Jimmy Alger, Del and Scott Darrah and several nieces and nephews.

    Calling hours will be held on Thursday July 14, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday July 15, 2022 at 10:00 am at St. John’s Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

    In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to District 3 Fire Department, District 3 Auxiliary or Hospice of the North Country.
