    ritalarch.jpgPLATTSBURGH—Rita Marie Larche, 85, formerly of Dannemora, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 17, 2022, at Clinton County Nursing Home in Plattsburgh.

    She was born in Plattsburgh on March 26, 1937, the oldest of three children born to Edward and Laura (Defayette) Carron.

    She graduated from Sallaz Academy in Redford and Our Lady of Victory Secretarial School in Plattsburgh.

    Rita married Deacon Richard “Mike” Larche on December 26, 1958, at the Church of Assumption in Redford, NY. Together they raised seven children.

    Rita was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family and her faith played an integral part of her life, from being a Cub Scout Den Mother to teaching religion, Marriage encounters, and Pre-Canna. She belonged to the Catholic Daughters and was a church Eucharistic Minister, bringing communion to shut-ins for many years.

    Rita was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Dannemora and was the church’s secretary for more than 30 years.

    Survivors include her daughters, Marie Barilla, Laurie and Bob Guiney; her sons, Edward and Michele Larche, John and Sue Larche, James and Susan Larche, Paul and Brandy Larche, Richard and Brittany Larche; grandchildren Travis, Andrew, Graelin, Nicholas, Jack, Sam, Max, Ava, Grace Larche, Harper Facey, Joseph, and Michael Barilla, James and Brian Guiney, Kathleen Fletcher, Katie Laba, Sarah Haupt; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

    Rita was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 31 years, granddaughter, Jessica Larche, brother Howard Carron, and sister Carol Gilmour.

    Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 20, 2022, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home.

    Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00 am at St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville. The burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Dannemora.

    Donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country or St. Joseph’s Church in Dannemora.
