ID:	3832Joseph O. Gero, 95, passed on October 30, 2022, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Cadyville on April 5, 1927, the son of Wilfred and Mae (Staley) Gero.

    Joe moved to Schenectady with his family in 1941 and went to work at the dairy. In 1943 he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served as a private in Germany and spent 18 months as a medic which he was proud of. He began work for the General Electric Company in 1947, where he worked until his retirement in 1987 when he moved back to Cadyville and worked for Walt Bull RV Barn until his second retirement.

    Joe was an accomplished musician. He played for many years with his son in the Blue Mountain Boys band. Joe continued the band with his cousin in the North Country. In his younger days, he was an avid horseman and rode many rodeos with his friends and family.

    His parents predeceased him, his sister Katheryn Louk, brother Irvin Gero, and two younger siblings, his oldest son Roger and youngest son Andrew.

    He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Patricia; his three children, JoAnn, Timothy, and Joseph; his six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

    Visitation will be Tuesday, November 8, 2022, from 11:00-1:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, Cadyville, NY. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Dannemora with Military Honors.

      Howard was born on September 26th, 1938 to Michael and Edna (Rylie) Ryan. He graduated from Au Sable Valley High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army.
