    He was born in Watertown, NY, on January 12, 1945, the son of Millard and Eleanor (Crosbie) Eggleston.

    Daniel attended Dannemora High School and Watertown School of Commerce.

    He served in the Army National Guard as a Medic in Malone for eight years.

    Daniel married Jo Dibello on August 27, 1988, in Plattsburgh.

    He was employed as a Vocational Instructor at Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora for 33 years.

    Daniel was a member of PRAM (model airplanes-radio controlled), Dannemora Fire Department, Magistrate Association, and the Town of Saranac Justice for 28 years.

    He enjoyed woodworking and carpentry, building his own home, and many others; he loved nature, observing wildlife, and his John Deere Tractors. He also was an accomplished musician.

    Survivors include his wife, Jo Eggleston of Saranac; sons, Todd Eggleston and his fiancé, Jill Heath of Schuyler Falls, Tracy Eggleston and his wife, Jody of Saranac and Mark Eggleston and his fiancé, Hailea Cross of Morrisonville; sisters, Mary Laura Barber of Chazy Lake and Barbara and George Malloy of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandchildren, Josh and Blair Eggleston, Amie Eggleston and companion Jared Nichols, Kelsey and Lexi Eggleston; great-grandchildren, Avery and Parish Eggleston; several nieces and nephews.

    He was predeceased by his parents, daughter-in-law, Darlene Eggleston, and brother-in-law, Howard “Pete” Barber.

    A funeral service will occur on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Saranac Methodist Church.

    Burial will take place in the Independence Cemetery in Saranac in the spring.

    Memorial donations may be made to Elmore ASPCA or the North Country Honor Flight.
