ID:	5834 Bruce Harlan Scholl died January 16, 2023, surrounded by his family at his daughter’s home.

    Bruce was born September 22, 1937, in Blackduck, Minnesota, to Roy and Exa (Hurlbert) Scholl.

    He graduated from Kelliher High School. Following graduation, he worked in the construction industry. At the age of 19 years old, he started working at Reserve Mining Company, following their closure he worked for LTV and Northshore Mining companies. During this time, he also worked part-time installing carpets and cabinets. He retired at the age of 58 years old.

    Bruce married Helen Gibson on October 25, 1958. Following their marriage, they were blessed with four children.

    He loved gardening and anything outdoors. Some of the best memories include time spent at the cabin with family, always sharing his knowledge of life experiences and past stories.

    Bruce is survived by his loving wife Helen; his children, Sharon (Terry), Alan (Fayette), Michael (Connie), and Cynthia (Jody); 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, sisters Helen (Karl) and Betty (Bill), and sister-in-law Bev.

    Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Peggy Lee (infant) and Mary Lou (Dell), brothers Caryl and Richard, and son-in-law Michael.

    Bruce is remembered for his ability to accept life’s challenges, strong work ethic, and witty personality.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Babbitt, with visitation being held one hour before the service at the church. Family arrangements have been entrusted to Kerntz Funeral Home of Ely.
