Buzz spent his whole life in Beartown, surrounded by his family and friends. As a Beartown historian, Buzz enjoyed holding court with his chosen family whenever someone stopped in. He worked on the family farm and drove trucks for his father. In 1972, he entered the NYSP Academy. He retired as a trooper in 1997. After taking a year off, he began his second career working for N.J. Brunell Blacktopping. He retired after 20 years at age 70.
Linda moved in on April 12, 1990, but if you asked Buzz, he would tell you it was the second Thursday in April. He finally broke down and asked her to marry him, and on July 25, 1998, they finally tied the knot. They spent time taking camping trips and visiting Topsail, NC.
Buzz enjoyed hunting over the years, including on horseback with his dad and brothers to Cold River. He was a member and Past President of Stillwater Hunting Club and Sons of the American Legion Post 1618 in Saranac.
He was Mr. Fix It. He never believed in throwing something away if it could be fixed. Coffee-black. Beer-Genny Light. Sweets-all of them.
He is survived by his wife of over 24 years, Linda O'Connell- Reyell; his children and their spouses, Bill Reyell, Laura and Brian Gokey, Peter Reyell and companion Lori Babbie; his siblings and their spouses; Fred and Kathy Reyell, Cindy Reyell and companion Tom Gillott, David Reyell and companion Art McKee, a sister in law; Lana Wilson, a brother in law; Lowell Way, his grandchildren; Duncan Reyell, Michael Gokey, his great-grandchildren; Audrey, Adalyn and Olivia Gokey and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his Beartown family.
His parents, a brother-in-law predeceased him; Lance Wilson, a sister Theresa Way, and his many hound dogs, the last being Scottie, Dancer, and Maggie Mae.
