ID:	6175 PLATTSBURGH- David F. Donah, 79, of Peru St., passed away Friday, March 17, 2023.

    He was born on May 27, 1943, the only child of Floyd and Dorothy (Denton) Donah.

    David was a graduate of Plattsburgh High School. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Plattsburgh and an associate in Criminal Justice. David graduated from the New York State Police Academy and, after 29 years, retired as a Senior Investigator Forensic Identification Unit out of Ray Brook. After retirement, David taught Criminal Justice at Clinton Community College for several years. He continued his education, getting accreditation from the NYS Association of County Coroners and Medical Examiners. David ran for office as Clinton County Coroner in 1995 and held that position until retiring in 2019. He would volunteer for the NYS Hunter Safety Program in his spare time. In his younger years, David enjoyed hunting, fishing, and photography. Later in life, you would find him enjoying a good meal at Michigans Plus or visiting with friends and telling stories at St. Armand’s Service Station. He belonged to the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York, Nobles of the Mystic Shine for North America, Oriental Temple of Troy, NY, and was a board member for Riverside Cemetery in Plattsburgh.

    His parents predeceased David.

    All his friends in the community will truly miss him.

    A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 10:30 am at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home Chapel, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh. Burial will be at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Plattsburgh.

      On Tuesday, May 31, 2022, Captain Christopher Kostoss died by suicide. Chris was born on October 16, 1972. At the time of his death, he had been a New York State Forest Ranger for 23 years.       Howard John Ryan, 83, of Keeseville, NY, passed away on February 18th, 2022.

      Howard was born on September 26th, 1938 to Michael and Edna (Rylie) Ryan. He graduated from Au Sable Valley High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army. When he returned home, he worked for the New York State Department of Transportation, and then he drove bus for a private school and the Au Sable Valley School District.
