Bruce, Sr., 80, of Jersey Swamp Road in Beekmantown, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the UVM Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont, with family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh on February 5, 1943, the son of the late Clarance and Margaret (Corrow) Bruce.

    Dennis was employed by Agway/Suburban in Plattsburgh for over 40 years until his retirement. He was also a member of the Beekmantown Fire Department for 35 years. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and his canine family.

    He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia (Duprey) Bruce; his children, and their spouses, Laurie and Dante Farias of Manchester, NH., Dennis Jr. and Laurie Bruce of North Port, FL., Keith Bruce of Plattsburgh, his sister; Karen Brim of Indiana, his grandchildren; Alyssia, Dennis III, Kimberlyn, Dustin, Haleiy, Katelyn, Grace, and many nieces and nephews.

    He was predeceased by his sisters, Patricia Frederick and Donna Lindsay, and a brother David Bruce.

    In accordance with his wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Celebration of his Life will be held at the Beekmantown Fire Department later. Memorial donations may be made to the Shriner's Hospital or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

    Arrangements are entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Online condolences may be offered at www.brownfuneralhomeinc.com​
