ID:	6189 Arletta Helen "Sissy" (Benson) Duprey, 65, of the Parsons Road, Peru, died Sunday, March 26, 2023, with her loving family by her side. Her heartbreaking passing followed a very recent and unexpected cancer diagnosis.

    She was born in Plattsburgh, October 14, 1957, the daughter of Dean, Sr. and Aletta (Salmon) Benson. Arletta graduated from Peru High School in 1975 and earned her Bachelor's Degree from SUNY Brockport in 1979.

    She married Donald Duprey, March 15, 1980, in St. Augustine's Church in Peru.

    Arletta worked at Women Infants and Children (WIC) for Clinton County for more than 30 years, prior to retiring in June of 2021.

    She was a lifetime member of St. Augustine's Church in Peru, taught religion for a few years, and was also a confirmation sponsor for many area youth.

    Arletta enjoyed walking with her dogs on the family property, and planning and organizing family gatherings. She was a loving and caring person who will be remembered for her giving nature, her knowledge of countless special dates, her interest in the fine details, and keeping everyone in line.

    Left to cherish the memory of Arletta are, her husband of 43 years, Donnie Duprey; son, Bryan Duprey; twin daughters, Erin and Emily Duprey; beloved granddaughter, Lena Duprey; her mother, Aletta Benson; brother, Dean, Jr. (Patty) Benson; sister, Bonnie (Kregg) Bruno; siblings-in-law, Elmer (Janet) Duprey; Jimmy (Ellyn) Duprey, Betty (Doug) Rambach, Joe (Judy) Duprey; Harry (Elaine) Duprey, David (Holly) Duprey, Steve Eilers, Kim (Kris) Bruno, and Ricky (Laurie) Duprey; and many nieces and nephews.

    She was predeceased by her father, Dean Benson, Sr.; parents-in-law, Clifford and Lena (Perry) Duprey: and siblings-in-law, Ruth Galarneau, Irene Way, Audrey Brean, Arthur Duprey, and Debbie Eilers.

    Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 5 to 7 pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 31, 2023 at 11 am at St. Augustine's Church in Peru. Interment will be held at a later date in the Parish Cemetery.

    Donations in her memory may be made to your local food shelf, St. Vincent de Paul, or the Elmore SPCA.

    Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 643-9055.​
