ID:	6194Charles L. “Papa Cobb” “Tuna” Cobb, Jr., 83, of Hollywood Avenue, Keeseville, died Monday, July 24, 2023, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH, in Plattsburgh.

    He was born in Plattsburgh on November 16, 1939, the son of Charles L. Sr. and Flora (Chase) Cobb. He grew up in Keeseville and graduated from Keeseville High School.

    Charlie married the former Catherine Busha on August 5, 1961, in St. John's Church in Keeseville. She predeceased him on January 19, 2009.

    Charlie worked for many years at St. Augustine's Church and Cemetery as a buildings and grounds supervisor. While at St. Augustine's, he began driving a bus for AuSable Valley Central School and drove the bus for nearly 30 years until retiring soon after his wife's passing.

    He was a 55-year member of the Keeeseville Fire Dept. and served in every area of the fire dept and Emergency Services for Clinton and Essex County at least once throughout the years. Charlie was a former member of the Keeseville Knights of Columbus and the Keeseville Elks.

    He was an avid golfer.

    Left to cherish the memory of Charlie are his children, Keena (John) Banker, Chuck Cobb, Keith Cobb, Melissa Cobb (Tim Worden), and Margaret "Maggie" (Benjamin) Kinsman, a granddaughter who he raised as a daughter, Melinda Cobb; 10 additional grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Leona Cobb; sister-in-law, Betty Chase; many community children who spent a great deal of time at the Cobb home; several nieces and nephews; and two canine companions, Pepper and Rhino.

    In addition to his parents and spouse, he was predeceased by his grandson, Keith Cobb, Jr.; two brothers, Rupert Chase, and William Cobb; and brothers-in-law, Clifford Busha and John Yelle.

    A celebration of his life will be held at the Keeseville Fire Station at a date and time to be announced.

    Donations in his memory may be made to the Keeseville Fire Dept. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville, 834-7667.
