ID:	6204 Henry C. Schwartz, 83, of Hidden Pines Drive, Plattsburgh, died Monday, September 4, 2023, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh, with his loving family by his side.

    He was born in Brooklyn on January 23, 1940, the son of Henry and Genevieve (Szmythkowski) Schwartz. He grew up in Brooklyn and graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in 1958.

    He married the former Patricia J. Hilberer on January 6, 1981, in Burlington Flats, NY.

    Henry was a firefighter for New York City prior to retirement. He was honored countless times throughout his career for his bravery and life-saving actions. Even after he entered eternal life, his service to humanity continued as an organ donor.

    Henry was a member of the South Plattsburgh Fire Department, University of Maryland Master Gardener, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, U.S. Power Squadron, and Knights of Columbus

    Henry enjoyed construction/woodworking and the outdoors, especially fishing, but his true love was time with his family and his canine companions.

    Left to cherish the memory of Henry are his wife of 42 years, Patricia Schwartz; daughter, Linda Webb; sons, Rusty (Britta) Schwartz, Jamie (Tori) Schwartz, and Tim Schwartz and his fiance, Cassie Smith; grandchildren, Vincent and Nicolai Schwartz, Vanessa and Melissa Webb, and Emma; mother-in-law, Catherine Hilberer; and canine companions, Quinn and Xena.

    In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Peter and Michael Schwartz.
